GENERAL INFORMATION COMPANY
Wangüemert Fisheries Management and Aquaculture SLU is founded by Dr. Mercedes Wangüemert to offer services on Fisheries Management and Aquaculture, focused on marine invertebrates and integrated multitrophic aquaculture (IMTA), including consultancy and training actions.
This company is the result of 18 years of experience working on sea cucumber fisheries and aquaculture, mainly linked with Mediterranean and NE Atlantic species. This experience has been acquired through several job positions on international research centers, deep collaborations with companies from different continents, travelling, and using a wide network of contacts from different sectors and institutions.
Wangüemert Fisheries Management and Aquaculture SLU arises to fill an empty niche linked to sea cucumber as new fishery and aquaculture resource, which shows scarce knowledge and specialists on Mediterranean and NE Atlantic regions. This company want to promote the sustainable exploitation of new marine resources and their use on aquaculture (production and IMTA systems), diversifying the target species, and offering new opportunities for investment on this sector.
