FAO consultancy: sea cucumber fisheries in Liberia and aquaculture potential

ABSTRACT
FAO Subregional Office for West Africa (SFW) hired Dr. Wangüemert as consultant under a project developed in Liberia (project TCP/LIR/3801/C1) to identify the target sea cucumber species under heavy fishery pressure, to obtain biological and ecological information from those species, to assess the potential for sea cucumber aquaculture development in Liberia, and to suggest improvements in the methodology used to produce beche-de-mer.
